We Are All In This Together Wednesday August 8, 2012 • Let’s Help Build Each Other

As I watched the controversy over Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas’ hair, I started wondering why is it easier to tear someone down rather than to build them up. Instead of praising her accomplishments, many people used one small thing to try to bring her down. It does not seem to matter whether it is someone we know or someone we know of, finding ways to break them down comes easy. I imagine what type of world we would have if we all worked together to bring the very best out of each other. To do that we must do whatever we can to build each other up. Every compliment, encouraging word, and notice of accomplishments is a brick used to build up confidence, endurance, and esteem in others. If we can all strive to do better, we will be better.
